The European Union's ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Maternova, has called upon Ukraine’s allies to send Kyiv more air defence after a massive Russian attack on 26 August.

Poland scrambled its fighter jets due to the threat of Russian missiles on the morning of 26 August, while Ukraine was under a large-scale attack.

The US Embassy has warned of possible Russian strikes on Ukrainian targets before Ukraine’s Independence Day.
