Hungary to Not Block Ukraine's EU Membership - Ambassador
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary in Ukraine, István Íjgyártó, has assured that his country will not block Ukraine's EU Membership when the time comes. He stated this in an interview with Espresso, European Pravda reports.
The ambassador made this assurance on his initiative at the end of the conversation when the host did not ask about it.
"In the end, I want to assure you that when they start considering Ukraine's membership in the European Union, Hungary will support it," Íjgyártó said.
Earlier, in an interview with EuroPravda, the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and a spokesman for President Zelensky, Ihor Zhovkva, said that Kyiv did not receive signals from Budapest about Viktor Orban's intention to block Ukraine's EU Membership.
Meanwhile, according to the Flash Eurobarometer survey, in all EU countries except Hungary, more than half of the population supports Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
