Ukrainian Military Already Mastering NASAMS - Media
The Ukrainian military has already begun to master Norwegian-made NASAMS air and missile defense systems that are going to be delivered by the United States.
NASAMS systems should be included in the next package of heavy weapons that the United States is going to hand over to Ukraine, Politico reported, citing an unnamed adviser to the Ukrainian government.
The day before, National Security Advisor of the United States, Jake Sullivan, had confirmed that Washington was "in the process of finalizing a package that includes advanced medium- and long-range air defense capabilities for the Ukrainians, along with some other items that are of urgent need, including ammunition for artillery and counterbattery radar systems."
According to media reports, it is supposed to be the Norwegian anti-aircraft missile system NASAMS, capable of hitting targets at a distance of more than 160 km.
In late March, President Zelenskyy called on Norway to provide Ukraine with anti-ship weapons and NASAMS systems.
