North Korea Came up with an Explanation Why They Recognized "Independence" of Temporarily Occupied Areas of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Korea defended its decision to recognize the so-called "DPR" and "LPR," saying that Ukraine joined U.S. sanctions on Pyongyang's weapons programs.

North Korea's state media released the corresponding statement, reports Reuters.

Ukraine severed diplomatic relations with North Korea in response to Pyongyang's recognition of "L/DNR."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea stated that "Ukraine has no the right to raise issue or dispute our legitimate exercise of sovereignty after committing an act that severely lacks fairness and justice between nations by actively joining the U.S. unjust and illegal hostile policy in the past."

The sanctions against the DPRK due to its nuclear program were imposed not only by the USA but also by the European Union, the G7 countries, and international organizations.

As previously reported, on June 30, Ukraine severed diplomatic relations with Syria in response to Syria's recognition of the so-called "independence" of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
