Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba welcomed the European Union's decision to open accession negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia.

"I welcome the decision to open EU accession talks with Albania and North Macedonia. Historic and well-deserved, dear colleagues Olta Xhacka and Bujar Osmani. The European Union once again proves it has the muscles to lead, create new opportunities, and shape the future of Europe," twitted Kuleba.

On Monday, the Council of the European Union decided to open accession negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia. And accession negotiations for North Macedonia and Albania started in Brussels on Tuesday.

North Macedonian lawmakers backed the French proposal to lift the Bulgaria veto on Saturday, clearing the way for long-overdue EU membership talks.
