Coordination Centre for Ukrainian Grain Exports to Open in Istanbul on Wednesday
Turkish Minister of Defense, Hulusi Akar, announced on Tuesday that a joint coordination center for Ukrainian grain exports under a U.N.-brokered deal would be opened in a ceremony in Istanbul on Wednesday, July 27.
The joint coordination center will be opened at the National Defense University in Istanbul, and the Turkish Defense Minister will be present at the opening ceremony, TRT reports.
The center will monitor harbors’ entrances and exits to ensure the safety of the routes. If necessary, ships using the Black Sea Corridor will be screened before passing through the straits.
As reported, last Friday in Istanbul, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, and the UN signed a deal to resume grain exports through three Ukrainian ports.
The next day after, Russia violated it by shelling Odesa port, condemned by the UN, the EU, and the USA. Ankara called on the parties to implement the agreements reached.
