The President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, presented the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy with Lithuania's highest award - the Order of Vytautas the Great.

The ceemony took place in the Verkhovna Rada, MP Oleksii Honcharenko reported in his Telegram channel.

"This award belongs to Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine," stressed Nausėda.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda arrived in Kyiv on the Ukrainian Statehood Day.

The Order of Vytautas the Great was instituted in 1930 as the highest award of the State of Lithuania to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Vytautas the Great.
