Ukraine and Sweden Agreed on Joint Statement on Key Issues of Bilateral Relations
Ukraine and Sweden signed a joint statement on defense cooperation, sectoral cooperation in nuclear energy, energy efficiency, and financial support for Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced it during a briefing with the Prime Minister of Sweden, Magdalena Andersson, in Kyiv.
"Today, we agreed on a joint statement with the Prime Minister. This is the first such document in the history of bilateral relations. The joint statement sets out key issues for both our states. I am very grateful to Sweden for supporting our course towards full accession to the European Union in the future," the Administration of the President quotes Zelensky.
According to the head of state, in addition to defense, economic, and energy issues, the parties discussed strengthening sanctions against the Russian Federation.
Andersson said her country would support an open-door policy for Ukraine after joining NATO.
"We must continue to support Ukraine, put pressure on Russia, particularly through sanctions, and our efforts must continue as long as necessary," she said.
Before the meeting with Zelensky, Magdalena Andersson had visited Bucha and Borodianka, which were liberated after the occupation.
