Melnyk Sharply Criticized Scholz's Fellow Party Members for Calling Not to Supply Weapons to Ukraine
Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andrii Melnyk sharply commented on the position of the left-wing politicians of the ruling Social Democratic Party of Germany, who called to stop backing Ukraine with weapons and push it to negotiations.
"Hello, you left-wing comrades, your cynical proposal about a "modus vivendi" with a terrorist cell in Russia means betraying Ukraine & sacrificing millions of Ukrainians to the Russian henchmen of murderers and rapists. Simply disgusting," Ambassador Melnyk wrote on Twitter.

As previously reported, German mass media published a letter from the Social Democrat left wing with a call to Europe to stop supplying heavy weapons to Ukraine and push it to negotiate with Russia to end the war.
Several members of the Bundestag, the European Parliament, and the federal states, as well as the former President of the Senate and mayor of Bremen, Carsten Sieling, and the mayor of Dortmund, Thomas Westphal, signed the letter.
Ambassador Melnyk will leave Germany by October 14.
On July 9, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recalled Andrii Melnyk from his post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany. Melnyk has been the head of Ukraine's diplomatic representation in Germany for eight years, while ambassadors usually rotate after four, at most, six years.
Later, the German mass media reported that Oleksii Makeiev might be appointed as the new ambassador of Ukraine.
