Olena Zelenska to Join World Leaders for the Queen's Funeral - The Sun

Olena Zelenska, the wife of Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, will join world leaders for the Queen's Elizabeth II funeral.

"First Lady Olena Zelenska is among 500 heads of state and dignitaries invited to the service and a VIP reception hosted by King Charles the day before," reports The Sun, referring to its source.

"Olena Zelenska's presence is yet another sign of the global support for Ukraine while Russia is isolated. Britain is one of Ukraine's staunchest allies. Her presence at the funeral is a sign of that friendship and mutual respect," said the source.

The source added that Zelenska would return to Ukraine as soon as the ceremony finished on Monday.

World leaders are set to arrive in London this weekend and are expected to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth by visiting Westminster Abbey, where her coffin is kept.

Some leading UK media, in particular the Sky News channel, also reported on Olena Zelenska's presence with reference to The Sun.

US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron will definitely be among the 2,000 mourners at the funeral on September 19.

Meanwhile, thousands of Britons continue to line up to say goodbye to the Queen at Westminster Abbey.

This week, Olena Zelenska was present as an honored guest at the annual State of the Union report of the European Union, which is a significant event.
