Ukraine, Poland, and UK Discussed how to Counter Russian Aggression as a Tripartite Alliance
The foreign ministers of Ukraine, Poland, and the UK met in a tripartite format in New York at the UN General Assembly to discuss how to counter Russian aggression based on Putin's decision on partial mobilisation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed about this.
Dmytro Kuleba represented Ukraine, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau represented Poland, and from the UK was James Cleverly. The latter assumed this position after the election of Liz Truss as Conservative leader and Prime Minister.
In the final statement, the ministers "condemned the further mobilisation of forces in Russia, which only rejects the possibility of establishing peace," and recorded the agreement:
- to continue unwavering support of Ukraine by Poland and the UK in countering Russian aggression until Ukraine wins;
- to develop proposals for long-term support to Ukraine to help it prevent and repel future attacks;
- to develop tripartite cooperation to strengthen the defence capabilities of the three countries and NATO's eastern flank.
As previously reported, the tripartite format of cooperation was established shortly before the full-scale war.
