Zelensky Will Accept Invitation to Summit to Talk about Joining the EU - Zhovkva
President Volodymyr Zelensky will accept an invitation to participate in the informal summit of European Union leaders on October 7 in Prague.
The Deputy Head of the President's Office, Ihor Zhovkva, stated this at the expert meeting "How should Ukraine prepare for negotiations with the EU?" organized by the "New Europe" Center.
"Our ambition for the informal EU summit on October 6-7 is to agree on further steps towards membership. The President has received an invitation from Charles Michel and Petr Fiala. He will accept it and talk about the next steps. He wants to hear their feedback," said Zhovkva
According to him, Ukraine is determined to fulfill the seven requirements of the European Commission by November.
"We still have three months and are halfway to fulfilling the seven requirements of the European Commission. And in this matter, the ball is in the Ukrainian court. On the European side, the question is about further steps," he said.
According to "European Pravda," Zelensky will address the summit via video call, but the Ukrainian government delegation will be present at the meeting in Prague.
As previously reported, Ukraine will be among the invited states to the first summit of the European Political Community, which will be held on October 6 in Prague.
The European Council at the summit in Brussels in June approved the creation of a European political community proposed by France.
