Tuesday, 27 September 2022

President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Maksym Kononenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Netherlands.

The corresponding decree has been published on the website of the President of Ukraine.

"To dismiss Maksym Oleksiiovych Kononenko from the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the position of Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons," reads decree No. 669/2022.

Kononenko was appointed ambassador of Ukraine to the Netherlands in December 2021. Before that, he had held the adviser-envoy of the Embassy of Ukraine in France.

As previously reported, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said in a conversation with Zelensky that the Netherlands would increase its support for Ukraine through mobilization in Russia and the so-called "referendums" in the occupied territories.

At the same time, the Netherlands is ready to accept Russians who come to avoid drafting in their own country.
