Ukrainian MFA Called Pro-Russian Sabbaths in Europe Unacceptable

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemns pro-Russian actions in Germany and the Czech Republic that demand to drop sanctions and stop supporting Ukraine.

"Such a Sabbath with the aggressor's tricolor in the center of Europe is unacceptable. These events had nothing to do with freedom of speech and real sentiments in Germany and the Czech Republic. We condemn the attempts of participants in pro-Russian actions to justify Russia's war against Ukraine and to insult the honor and dignity of Ukrainians who defend freedom in Europe at the cost of their own lives," said Oleg Nikolenko, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no doubts about the solidarity with Ukrainians of the vast majority of Germans and Czechs, who provided hundreds of thousands of them with temporary shelter. They also support Ukraine and the policy of their governments to counter Russian aggression.

"The actions on Sunday cannot undermine the friendship between Ukraine and Germany and the Czech Republic, whose support we highly value," said Nikolenko.

As previously reported, about 2000 mostly Russian-speaking protesters marched in Cologne on Sunday to demand Germany stop supporting Ukraine and drop sanctions against Russia.

The day before, 70,000 pro-Russian forces had protested in Prague: against sanctions and supplying weapons to Ukraine.
