Putin and Erdoğan to Discuss Ukraine in Kazakhstan
Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Kazakhstan on Wednesday on the sidelines of a regional summit.
This was reported by Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov.
"Yes, it has been settled. Indeed, a meeting is being arranged, but not tomorrow, the day after tomorrow," Russian agency "Interfax" quotes Peskov.
"The topics are clear. Of course, it is Ukraine and bilateral relations, which are also very multifaceted. In general, the exchange of opinions on current affairs," he noted.
Earlier, the media reported that Erdoğan would meet with Putin on the sidelines of a regional summit in Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, on Wednesday.
Erdoğan met with Putin on the sidelines of a regional summit in Uzbekistan last month.
He has repeatedly announced Turkey's readiness to organize a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for negotiations.
Recently, Zelenskyy signed a decree formally announcing the "impossible" prospect of peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Tuesday called for a cease-fire "as soon as possible," after the Russian strikes across Ukraine on Monday, which killed at least 19 people and wounded more than 100, noting that this peace should not involve Ukraine's territorial concessions.
