First NASAMS from U.S. to Be Delivered this Month - Reznikov
The United States of America will hand over to Ukraine the first few NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems this month.
The Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, revealed it at the nationwide telethon, as "Interfax-Ukraine" reports.
"There is a US decision to supply us with the well-known NASAMS system: the first few systems. Our specialists are already being trained. The systems will be delivered this month," Reznikov said.
White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said on Tuesday that Washington was speeding up the shipment of NASAMS air defenses to Ukraine.
According to Kirby, the United States is "on track to get those first two (NASAMS systems. - EP) over there in the very near future."
The United States announced the hand over to Ukraine two NASAMS air defence systems in early July as military aid.
In September, the Pentagon announced that the first two systems would be delivered within the next two months.
