EU Ambassador Approvingly Assesses Ukraine's Progress on European Commission's Seven Requirements
Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Matti Maasikas, returned to Kyiv after a short absence and held the first meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna.
Maasikas reported that he had not been in Kyiv for some time due to his COVID recovery.
The ambassador noted "the solid progress in delivering on the seven requirements on Ukraine's EU path."

He means the seven recommendations of the European Commission, which Kyiv obtained after granting it EU candidacy in June 2022. "EuroPravda" explained them in detail in the article "Candidate in Advance."
In early October, the Office of the President of Ukraine stated that they would like to implement the recommendations of the European Commission "as soon as possible, preferably by the end of the year."
However, due to the further bureaucratic influence of the responsible European Commissioner from Hungary, the EC report on the implementation and the potential start of accession negotiations became impossible before October 2023, regardless of Kyiv's "pace."
