Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the United States on Wednesday morning, where he will meet with his American counterpart Joe Biden and address a joint session of Congress.

According to the American TV channel CBS, there are no details on Zelenskyy's visit to the USA but earlier it was reported that Zelenskyy flew from Rzeszów Airport to Washington aboard an American military aircraft.

According to the previous schedule, at 21:00 Kyiv time, Biden will meet Zelenskyy at the White House and hold a bilateral meeting with him.

It is expected that at 11:30 p.m. Kyiv time, the presidents of Ukraine and the United States will hold a joint press conference, and later, at approximately 2:30 a.m. Thursday Kyiv time, Zelenskyy will address a joint session of Congress.

It is noted that during the meeting, US President Joe Biden will have the opportunity to discuss with Zelenskyy further actions on the battlefield, the training of the Ukrainian military, which is carried out by the United States and its allies, sanctions and export controls against the Russian Federation, and aid to Ukraine in the economic and energy sectors, as well as humanitarian aid.

On the morning of December 21, the Office of the President of Ukraine officially confirmed Zelenskyy's visit to the United States.

A representative of the White House said that US President Joe Biden will announce a new significant assistance package to Ukraine worth about $2 billion, which will include a battery of Patriot air defence systems.

As reported, US official clarified why Biden invited Zelenskyy to Washington.
