Zelenskyy Met With Duda on His Way Home From the United States
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, coming back from his first foreign visit to the United States since the full-scale Russian invasion, has held a meeting with his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda.
"On my way home, I met with a friend of Ukraine - the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda. We summed up the year, which brought historic challenges due to a full-scale war. We discussed strategic plans for the future, bilateral relations, and interactions at the international level in 2023," Zelenskyy wrote on Facebook.
The President also thanked Poland "for its constant and powerful support."
The Office of the President of Ukraine later added that Zelenskyy and Duda met in Rzeszów, where they "strategic plans for the future, the agenda of bilateral relations and cooperation at the international level in the coming year."
"The Presidents touched upon a wide range of topics with an emphasis on strengthening the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian state and humanitarian issues, which are extremely important, in particular, for Ukrainian temporary migrants who were forced to leave Ukraine to escape the war," the statement reads.
As reported, on Wednesday Zelenskyy arrived at the White House, where he held talks with US President Joe Biden.
Antony Blinken, the United States Secretary of State, officially announced on Wednesday, 21 December a new package of military aid for Ukraine in the amount of US$1.85 billion, which includes the transfer of the Patriot air defence system.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed a joint meeting of the US Congress in Washington, calling the next year decisive in the war with Russia.
