European Council President Spoke to Parliament: Ukraine Is Europe. Our Future Is Bound Together
The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, who arrived on a visit to Kyiv on January 19, spoke to the Ukrainian parliament, report several MPs on social networks, including Yaroslav Zhelezniak.
During Michel's speech, heads and representatives of EU diplomatic missions were present in the hall.
According to Zhelezniak, in his speech, Michel underlined that "I came to tell you: today we are all Ukrainians!"
He expressed confidence that Ukraine will win the war because of its spirit and the EU will support it. "Ukraine is the EU, and the EU is Ukraine. We will be together!" Zhelezniak quotes Michel.
"My dear Ukrainian brothers and sisters, you have embraced freedom, democracy and the values we share as Europeans. You have chosen to join us in our Union and for that, too many are paying the ultimate price. We will never forget it... The European Union is with you today. We will be with you tomorrow and for as long as it takes. There can be no free Europe without a free Ukraine. Our future is bound together," Michel also said, according to People's Deputy Zhelezniak.
Michel also spoke about his trip to Borodianka and what he saw there.
Michel planned to meet with the President, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, and members of parliament in Kyiv.
He also paid a visit to the Ukrainian servicemen in one of the rehabilitation centers in Kyiv.
