Germany Receives Poland's Request for Leopard 2 Tanks for Ukraine
Germany has now received Poland's official request to re-export Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, which are in service with the Polish army, to Ukraine.
Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak wrote about this on Twitter.
"The Germans have already received our request for permission to transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. I also appeal to the German side to join the coalition of countries supporting Ukraine with Leopard 2 tanks," he added. "This is our common cause because the security of the whole of Europe is at stake!" the message reads.
To nasza wspólna sprawa, bo chodzi o bezpieczeństwo całej Europy! pic.twitter.com/9oMQihI83Z

On Tuesday, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, after a meeting with the NATO Secretary General, said that Berlin still has not made a decision on Leopard tanks for Ukraine.
At the same time, he said that he supports the initiative of other countries to start training Ukrainians on these tanks.
As reported, Poland will request Germany to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine, but even if there is no such agreement, it will hand over the tanks as part of a "small coalition".
