Ukraine, the EU and NATO are joining forces to increase the production of weapons and ammunition for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to replenish the stockpiles of the Allies.

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, announced this on Tuesday in Brussels at the first-ever high-level tripartite Ukraine-EU-NATO meeting.

The press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has reported that Ukraine, the EU and NATO are joining forces to increase the production of weapons and ammunition for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to replenish the stockpiles of the Allies.

To this end, the parties agreed to create a tripartite coordination mechanism that would synchronise the work of producers, buyers and governments.

The meeting in Brussels took place with the participation of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrell. The main topic of the negotiations was the strengthening of Ukraine's defence capabilities.

Kuleba thanked the EU and NATO countries for important decisions regarding assistance to Ukraine in the field of security and called on them to speed up their implementation.

"We have a common goal – to restore peace and stability in Europe. For this purpose, it is important that Ukraine’s victory is achieved and that our military is provided with everything they need as soon as possible," the Minister said.

Mr. Kuleba stated that the new trilateral Ukraine-EU-NATO format would work on a permanent basis.

He also proposed to start training Ukrainian pilots within the framework of existing EU and NATO mechanisms.

Following the meeting, Stoltenberg stated that Ukraine's future with the Euro-Atlantic family and after the war will require long-term agreements for its security.

As reported, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has called on Russia to reconsider its decision to suspend its participation in the last remaining nuclear arms control pact with the United States.
