Bundestag Raised Ukrainian Flag on First Anniversary of Russian Attack
On February 24, marking the first anniversary of the Russian invasion, the German Bundestag raised the flag of Ukraine over its building in the center of Berlin.
According to the statement of the German parliament, in addition to the flags on the east and west sides of the Reichstag building, the national flag of Ukraine also flies on the southwest tower of the Reichstag building.
"The Bundestag Presidium has thus taken up an initiative from the German-Ukrainian parliamentary group to show a particularly clear sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people on this day as the German Bundestag," the statement reads.
It is also reported that at the beginning of the plenary session on Thursday, March 2, Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) will make a government statement on "One year of turning point - strengthening Germany's security and alliances that continue to support Ukraine."
As reported, one of the most famous architectural monuments of France - the Eiffel Tower in Paris - was lit up with the colours of the Ukrainian flag on Thursday evening for the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
