German Chancellor: Putin Has Been Defeated, He Must End War
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has promised to back Ukraine as long as necessary, calling on Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war.
"For a year now, Russia has been waging a relentless war of aggression against Ukraine. Germany stands firmly by the side of Ukraine - also in the future. The sooner Putin realises that he will not achieve his imperialist goal, the greater the chance of an end to the war," Scholz said in his speech marking the anniversary of the Russian invasion.

According to him, if you look at the events of the previous year, it becomes obvious that the Russian president has been defeated.
"Vladimir Putin bet on division but got the opposite result. Ukraine is united like never before. The European Union is united," Scholz said.
"Germany stands unwaveringly on the side of Ukraine - today and in the future. After all, the war continues not because we don't send weapons. On the contrary: the sooner Putin admits that his imperialist goal will not be achieved, the more chances the war ends. Everything is in Putin's hands. He can stop this war," added the chancellor.
As reported, on February 24, the anniversary of the Russian invasion, the German Bundestag raised the Ukrainian flag over its building in the center of Berlin.
