Ukraine Begins Electricity Exports to Moldova, Followed by Poland and Slovakia
Electricity grid operator Ukrenergo has held the first auction for the bandwidth allocation of interstate networks to export electricity to Moldova on the day of delivery on April 11.
As the company's press service informs on Telegram, given the auction, 330 of the 650 MW of all available capacity in the Moldovan direction was distributed among four participants.
Due to the war in Ukraine and related risks, access to interstate crossings is currently allocated only for a short-term period in daily auctions.
On Monday, April 10, an auction will be held to allocate 80 MW of interstate crossing capacity to Poland for the delivery date of April 12.
The possibility of opening exports to Slovakia is also currently being negotiated.
On April 7, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, signed an executive document that allows the process of restoring electricity exports (Ukr) in conditions of surplus generating capacity to begin.
