Monday, 17 April 2023

The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Eduard Heger, said that his country is suspending grain import and several other products from Ukraine.

"Slovakia will temporarily stop the grain import and other products from Ukraine," Heger said on Facebook.

According to him, a meeting of the working group on this topic will be held on April 17.

On April 13, the Ministry of Agriculture of Slovakia ordered to ban (Ukr) the processing of grain imported from Ukraine, as well as placing Ukrainian grain products on the domestic market.

On April 15, the Polish government also decided to ban grain import (Ukr) and other agricultural products from Ukraine until 30 June to protect the Polish agricultural sector. On April 16, the government of Hungary (Ukr), following Poland, temporarily banned the import of grain and oilseeds from Ukraine, as well as other agricultural products.

At the same time, it was reported that the agriculture ministers of Ukraine and Poland would meet in Poland (Ukr) on Monday to sign an agreement on the further export of Ukrainian grain, causing considerable dissatisfaction among Polish farmers.
