PACE to Discuss Thursday Deportations of Ukrainian Children to Russian and Attempts to Destabilise Moldova
On April 27th, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will discuss deportations and forcible transfers of Ukrainian children and other civilians to Russian Federation or to Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied, as well as attempts to destabilise Moldova.
This urgent debate on "Deportations and forcible transfers of Ukrainian children and other civilians to Russian Federation or to Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied: create conditions for their safe return, stop these crimes and punish the perpetrators" is scheduled for 3:30 pm CET. They will consider a resolution project of the same name during the debate. First Lady Olena Zelenska will join the debate online.
At 5:30 pm, the debate will begin on the topic of "Russia's role in the escalation of tensions in the Republic of Moldova." The format does not provide for the adoption of documents.
On April 26th, they discussed the situation with the implementation of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights (Ukr). Ukraine was mentioned there among the countries with the highest number of unfulfilled decisions, along with Romania, Hungary, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan.
