Missile Found near Bydgoszcz May Have Been Launched in Poland during Anti-aircraft Defence Exercises – Media
RMF FM reports that their correspondent learned unofficially that the missile, the fragments of which were found in the forest near Bydgoszcz, resulted from the defence system exercises that Poland's army buys.
Most likely, the missile fell in the area during exercises for improving Poland's air defence system. Poland has recently intensified the development of defence against potential missile and air strikes.
Anonymous sources do not yet know what was found – a missile that was to be the target for air defence forces during the exercises or, conversely, one that was launched as an attacking missile.
Journalists also noted that the first Patriot air defence missile system battery that arrived in Poland was set up at a firing range near Torun, close to Bydgoszcz.
Only the fact of finding a "military air object" has been officially confirmed (Ukr), and no further comments from Polish officials have been obtained.
Last November in the Polish border village of Przewodów, elements of a missile fell on the territory of Poland due to a missile strike by Russia on Ukraine, leading to the deaths of two people.
In connection with the incident, Germany decided to send to Poland three Patriot systems (Ukr) together with military personnel who operate the system.
