British Prime Minister 'Disappointed' Zelenskyy Will Not Address Eurovision
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is disappointed with a decision to block Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy from making an address at the Eurovision Song Contest.
According to Sky News with reference to the statement of the spokesman of the British Prime Minister, Sunak believed that it would be "fitting" as the UK is hosting the event on Ukraine's behalf.
"The freedoms President Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people are fighting for are not political, they are fundamental," said the British Prime Minister's spokesman.
Earlier, The Times reported that the organisers of Eurovision 2023 refused Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's offer to deliver an address at the final of the contest on 13 May.
At the same time, the Office of the President of Ukraine did not approach the organisers of the Eurovision Song Contest with a proposal for an online performance by Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
