The leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) countries are to discuss a peace summit on Ukraine this week in Japan.

"G7 leaders will discuss a proposal to hold a Ukraine peace summit during their three-day meeting in Hiroshima this week," Reuters cites an EU official familiar with the discussions.

G7 leaders will meet on May 19-21 in Japan's city of Hiroshima.

The G7 summit will also discuss the use of frozen Russian assets.

In March, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed holding a summit on his peace plan in one of the European capitals.

According to the media, the EU is proposing to hold this summit in Copenhagen before the NATO summit in July (Ukr).

The President of Ukraine presented a 10-point peace plan in his speech at the G20 summit in the autumn of 2022.
