Denmark to Send Military Assistance to Ukraine Worth over $250 Million to Back Counter-Offensive

The Danish parliament has approved a decision to allocate a new package of military assistance worth 1.7 billion Danish kroner (over $250 million) to Ukraine.

The Danish Minister of Defence, Troels Lund Poulsen, has announced it after a meeting of the Committee on Foreign Policy, as reported by Danish-language broadcaster DR.

"This (new assistance package. – Ed.) means that we are helping the Ukrainian air defence. There is demand for this," Poulsen said.

According to the decision, Denmark will provide Ukraine with demining machines, ammunition, field bridges, and funds for air defence.

This donation is the largest aid package from Denmark to date and is sent to back Ukraine's counter-offensive.

"This will help support the capabilities that the Ukrainian side lacks for a successful offensive now when Ukrainians plan to regain the territories occupied by Russians," Poulsen explained.

"This is a donation that we hope will help provide Ukraine with an even better foundation to become the master of their own house," he added.

Denmark's total support for Ukraine has reached 11 billion Danish kroner.

In April, Denmark, together with the Netherlands, decided to send 14 Leopard 2 tanks of German production to Ukraine.

In addition, Denmark, together with Norway, agreed to hand over 8,000 artillery shells to Ukraine (Ukr).
