Leopard 1 tanks, sent by Denmark and Germany, will be ready for deployment in Ukraine by June 1.

According to Troels Lund Poulsen, Denmark's acting defence minister, with reference to the TV2 channel, in total, Denmark and Germany will send 80 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine. Poulsen called it a "very significant" quantity. He is currently in Berlin, meeting with Danish instructors who are training Ukrainian troops on how to operate these machines. It will take about a month.

Poulsen assures that Ukrainians can benefit from the Leopard 1 tanks, even though they are not as modern and efficient as their successors, the Leopard 2 tanks. He pointed out that they have very good firepower and are capable of navigating terrain well. Additionally, the quantity is important as Ukrainians need a large number of tanks.

In February, the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark announced plans to send 100 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine (Ukr), once they are brought to the appropriate technical condition. In an interview, Pistorius did not specify why he mentioned 80 tanks. Perhaps this refers to a batch, which maintenance Germany took on as a promise.

On April 28, Ukrainian tank crews had already begun training on Leopard 1 tanks.
