France Steps up Arms Supplies to Ukraine to Help Counteroffensive – Macron
French President Emmanuel Macron said that Western countries will intensify the supply of military assistance to Ukraine to help the counterattack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"We have done everything to help it. We have intensified the delivery of ammunition, weapons and armed vehicles," Reuters quotes Macron, who said this at a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Polish President Andrzej Duda.
The French president stressed that aid will continue in the coming weeks.
He also added that he recently spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who confirmed the start of the counteroffensive.
Earlier, Macron said that Ukraine's counteroffensive had been going on for several days and should lead to conditions that would allow Kyiv to start negotiations as favourably as possible.
The White House also confirmed the start of Ukraine's counteroffensive operations, for which Washington is preparing new military assistance.
