EU: We Hope Putin's "Greetings" Will Give African Leaders Understanding of Who Aggressor Is
The EU has stated that the visit of African leaders to Kyiv was accompanied by another missile attack by Russia.
According to the correspondent of "European Pravda," this was stated by Peter Stano, the lead spokesperson for foreign affairs and security policy, during a briefing in Brussels.
"African leaders are currently in Kyiv. They were greeted in a very special way – with a new missile attack by Putin. Therefore, I hope this will help them understand who the aggressor is, how the aggressor behaves, and what his true intentions are," Stano noted.
According to him, the EU welcomes any significant and serious efforts to achieve peace because no one desires peace more than Ukrainians and Europeans.
However, Stano pointed out that to achieve this, it is necessary to speak with the victim of aggression, so it is a good idea that African leaders are in Kyiv a year and four months after the full-scale invasion.
"Peace can come immediately when Putin stops terrorising the Ukrainian people and withdraws his killer troops and marauders from Ukrainian territory," stated the representative of the European Commission.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba commented on the latest missile attack on Ukraine carried out by Russia on the day of the visit of the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, to Kyiv.
"Putin "builds confidence" by launching the largest missile attack on Kyiv in weeks, exactly amid the visit of African leaders to our capital. Russian missiles are a message to Africa: Russia wants more war, not peace," he said.
On the morning of June 16, Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of the Republic of South Africa, arrived in Kyiv. A few hours later, a massive air raid alert was announced in Ukraine: Air Forces detected launches of "Kalibr" missiles from the Black Sea, as well as ballistic missiles.
