Most Germans and Poles Support Policy of Their Countries on Aid to Ukraine
The majority of Germans and Poles continue to support the measures taken by their governments to back Ukraine in times of Russian aggression.
According to ntv and the "German-Polish Barometer" survey conducted by the German-Polish Institute in Darmstadt and the Warsaw Institute of Public Affairs, support for accepting refugees, supplying weapons, imposing economic sanctions, and giving up Russian oil and gas is currently lower in both countries compared to shortly after the start of the war in March 2022.
As the survey shows, 58% of respondents in Germany and 61% in Poland support accepting refugees.
In Germany, 51% and Poland, 76% are for supplying weapons.
Extensive economic sanctions are considered appropriate by 57% of Germans and 85% of Poles.
Refusing Russian oil and gas is supported by 59% in Germany and 81% in Poland.
"The approval ratings for these measures are currently lower than in March 2022 but higher than before February 24, 2022," noted Agnieszka Łada-Konefał, Deputy Director of the German-Polish Institute in Darmstadt.
As reported, 94% of Finns fully or partially agree with the importance for Finland to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
