White House: US Has Enough Funds to Support Ukraine throughout Fiscal Year
The United States has sufficient funds to continue providing assistance to Ukraine until the autumn when the fiscal year ends.
"We've got enough funds, as I said earlier, to help support Ukraine on the battlefield throughout the rest of this fiscal year," stated John Kirby, White House NSC Coordinator for Strategic Communications, during a briefing.
Kirby stated that if the administration requires additional funds, they will seek assistance from Congress.
He also points out that Ukraine currently has the bipartisan and bicameral support and hopes that this will continue in the future.
Previously, Kirby stated that the US was preparing a new package of military assistance for Ukraine.
The House passed a bill to suspend the debt ceiling on Wednesday, clearing a major legislative hurdle with just days left before the US is expected to default.
