Stoltenberg Confirms Zelenskyy Will Attend NATO Summit
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has confirmed that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will attend the NATO summit in Vilnius.
Stoltenberg said that this summit should bring Ukraine closer to NATO.
"We will upgrade our political ties. President Zelenskyy will join us at the inaugural meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council," Stoltenberg said at a press conference with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda in Vilnius.
Earlier, in an interview with the European Parliament, Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna said that no final decision had been made regarding President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's attendance at the 11-12 July NATO summit in Vilnius.
On 7 July, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also announced that President Zelenskyy would take part in the NATO Summit in Vilnius next week as part of the launch of a new format for Ukraine's cooperation with the Alliance. Stoltenberg did not specify the format of the president's participation in the meeting.
