Ukraine Has Not Received ATACMS Yet for "Objective Reasons" – Foreign Minister

Ukraine is working with the United States to obtain long-range ATACMS missiles.

Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba stated in an interview with Radio Svoboda (Liberty) that he knows "some reasons" why the US has not yet decided to transfer the long-range missiles to Kyiv, adding that these reasons "are quite objective".

"We are working with them. But the US is making decisions on providing us with some other types of weapons. These are very difficult decisions. But they are making them," Kuleba admitted.

At the same time, Ukraine’s minister of foreign affairs emphasised that he does not have the impression that the decision to transfer ATACMS to Ukraine has been stalled on purpose, noting that he does not see this happening.

"There are certain problems, certain aspects for which a solution must be found in order for this to be provided. But the United States is doing a lot for us. We are very grateful to them for that. That is why we do not even try to criticise them for this," Kuleba noted.

The New York Times reported previously that secret discussions were taking place in the White House regarding the possible supply of long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that the United States was coming close to making a decision to provide Ukraine with ATACMS long-range tactical missile systems.
