The UK has been disassembling and studying Russian armoured vehicles captured in Ukraine to learn more about how to counter these weapons.

As Sky News reports, Antony Radakin, Chief of the UK Defence Staff, explained why the UK has been studying Russian hardware captured on the battlefield in Ukraine.

"It's really important because we're in a club of nations that when we get hold of Russian kit or other nations' kit that might be a danger to us in the future, we share that knowledge," Radakin pointed out.

He said that the UK has scientists who examine the parts of the vehicles like forensic experts.

"…That helps us to understand: how does their equipment work? How can we defeat it? How can we have even better armour? How can we disrupt their communications? How can we ensure that we can penetrate their defences? And that's what we do," he stated.

UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace believes that Russia will remain a major threat in the future and is most concerned about the risk of a direct clash with Russia.

The United Kingdom is calling for allies to join London in supplying Ukraine with long-range weapons capable of wiping out Russian forces behind the front line.
