Spain Sent Field Hospital to Ukraine and Prepares Four Leopard Tanks and Armoured Personnel Carriers
Spain has sent a field hospital to Ukraine and is going to send four Leopard 2A4 tanks, ten armoured personnel carriers, and other equipment next week.
As reported by the Spanish Ministry of Defence, following the participation of the Minister, Margarita Robles, in the Ramstein format meeting on July 18, she emphasized the importance of providing Ukraine with an enhanced field hospital. The hospital is equipped with facilities for urgent surgery, post-operative rooms, a pharmacy, sterilisation area, laboratory, and two modules for hospitalisation.
The hospital has left Spain and will arrive in Poland on July 23 before heading to Ukraine. Ukrainian doctors and logistics personnel have been trained in Zaragoza and are ready to deploy, assemble, and operate the hospital in the combat zone.
The minister also announced that Spain will send four Leopard 2A4 tanks, ten armoured personnel carriers, several all-terrain vehicles, small trucks, and ambulances to Ukraine by sea next week. Additionally, a new batch of light weapons and large-caliber ammunition will be sent during the summer.
In July, Ukrainian border guards and customs officers completed their first canine training course in Spain for detecting explosives, weapons, and ammunition.
In June, Spain announced plans to send a field hospital, twenty armoured personnel carriers, and four Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine. Prior to this, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had received six Leopard 2A4 tanks from Spain.
