Bulgaria Confirms Zelenskyy's Visit, Regretting Information Leak
On Tuesday evening, Bulgarian Defence Minister Todor Tagarev confirmed preparations for the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Tagarev in a comment to TV1 channel said that preparations for Zelenskyy's visit "have been going on for some time" and were not public.
"This visit is important for us, I'm sorry that the information was leaked. I hope that this will not prevent the arrival of the Ukrainian president," Tagarev added.
According to Bulgarian media outlets, Ukraine's president will visit Bulgaria on Thursday at the invitation of the new pro-European government.
Zelenskyy's visit comes after MPs refused to listen to his appeal, in which he wanted to call on Bulgaria to help Ukraine.
Bulgaria's new pro-European government has previously confirmed its support for military assistance to Ukraine.
Last week, Bulgaria approved a new military assistance package for Ukraine, details of which are not disclosed. Bulgarian Defence Minister has stated that the government started preparing another military assistance package.
