Zelenskyy Shared Details of Talks during His Visit to Bulgaria
Key topics between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov were security issues and military assistance.
Zelenskyy stated at a briefing following their meeting that they discussed the entire range of relations, particularly the security issues.
"We have agreed to significantly intensify cooperation between defence ministries and the defence sector as a whole. I can assure that we will definitely share all the valuable security experience gained in this war with our partners, so that our joint strength becomes greater," Zelenskyy underlined
They also discussed Bulgaria's military assistance to Ukraine, including the details of the latest package.
Zelenskyy added that they will also discuss assistance with the treatment and rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian troops as well as the training of Ukrainian military medics.
Furthermore, he invited Bulgarian companies to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine, particularly in educational institutions. "Bulgaria is ready to engage in cooperation in the environmental direction, digitalisation," Zelensky emphasised.
Energy cooperation and energy security were also discussed. According to Zelenskyy, this area is becoming one of the priorities in bilateral relations. During the visit, the energy ministers of Ukraine and Bulgaria signed a memorandum of cooperation.
As previously reported, a declaration supporting Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations was signed by Bulgaria.
In one of the recent interviews, the Bulgarian Minister of Defence said that the country was already preparing a new package of military assistance for Ukraine.
