France Condemned Latest Russian Mass Shelling of Ukrainian Cities
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France has condemned the recent series of Russian missile strikes on Ukrainian cities on Tuesday night, killing at least four people.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the recent Russian missile strikes were directed at civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, which "once again illustrates Russia’s complete contempt for all principles of international humanitarian law, which it flagrantly and repeatedly violates."
"These unacceptable acts constitute war crimes and cannot go unpunished," emphasised Catherine Colonna, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.
"In close coordination with its partners, France will continue to provide military support for Ukraine to bolster Ukraine’s air defences, as well as support for Ukrainian courts and the International Criminal Court to combat impunity for such crimes," the Ministry added.
The Russians launched a large-scale missile attack on Ukraine in the early morning of 15 August. Their missiles hit an industrial facility in Lutsk (three people were killed), residential buildings in Lviv, and an industrial facility in Dnipro (a fire broke out, and two people were injured), and explosions were also heard in Khmelnytskyi Oblast and Smila, Cherkasy Oblast.
The Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with 28 air- and sea-based missiles at around 04:00 on 15 August 2023, and Ukrainian defenders destroyed 16 Kh-101/Kh-555 and Kalibr cruise missiles.
