The Prime Minister of Finland, Petteri Orpo, has arrived in Ukraine on his first official visit in his capacity as Prime Minister.

"Welcome to Ukraine, Petteri Orpo. I thank Finland for its military and humanitarian support, sanctions, and readiness to co-lead a number of Peace Formula items. I also invited Finland to take part in our Defense Industries Forum this autumn," President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on Twitter.

According to Finnish media reports, the visit of the Prime Minister was not announced due to security considerations.

Orpo began his journey by visiting Irpin, near Kyiv, where buildings provided by Finland were constructed for those who lost their homes.

Orpo highly praised the construction of temporary housing as significant concrete help and stated that Finland is actively participating in the recovery of Ukraine.
