Latvia Joins G7 Declaration on 'Security Guarantees' for Ukraine
Latvia has become another country to have joined the G7 declaration in support of Ukraine.
Announcing Riga's decision, Latvia's Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš promised long-term support for Ukraine in its war against Russian aggression.
"Together with our partners we will support Ukraine in its fight against Russia's aggression for as long as it takes," he wrote on Twitter.
Latvia joins #G7 Declaration of support to Ukraine. Together with our partners we will support #Ukraine in its fight against Russia’s aggression for as long as it takes. We expect an ad hoc international tribunal for 🇷🇺 aggression against 🇺🇦.

Latvia is awaiting an ad hoc international tribunal for Russian aggression against Ukraine, added the Latvian Prime Minister.
The G7 countries agreed on a framework document on 'security guarantees' for Ukraine at the NATO summit in Vilnius. The leaders agreed on the framework of the security guarantees rather than specific parameters, and specific bilateral agreements will be signed later.
In early August, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that 12 countries had already joined the G7 joint declaration on the so-called 'security guarantees.'
On August 3, Ukraine initiated negotiations with the United States regarding a bilateral agreement on providing 'security guarantees.'
