Canada will provide Ukraine with more than 11,000 assault rifles and ammunition, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced at a joint briefing with senior EU officials.

"Today I am announcing that Canada is donating over 11,000 assault rifles and over 9 million rounds of ammunition," Trudeau said.

Trudeau emphasised that Russia's aggression against Ukraine is continuing and that Ukraine needs further support to defend itself.

Earlier, all Canadian provinces have recognise Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

As reported, the Canadian government launched an investigation into reports that its anti-drone system may have been sold to Russia.
