NATO Secretary General Comments on Current Achievements of Ukraine on Battlefield
Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, has said that fierce battles are currently taking place at the contact line in Ukraine, but the Ukrainian forces have several achievements in the war against the Russian aggressor.
He noted at a press conference in Brussels that in recent months, there have been no significant advances on the line of military contact, unlike last year, when Ukraine liberated more than half of the territories occupied since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
"However, from the point of view of military success, the fact that the Ukrainians were able to strike Russian military facilities in the deep rear, destroying their planes and helicopters… The fact that without a fleet, they were able to move the Russian Black Sea fleet to Novorossiysk, which made it possible to unblock the Black Sea grain corridor... This is a great achievement," the NATO Secretary General stressed.
Stoltenberg states this achievement "is measured not in square kilometres, but in the destruction of Russian military capabilities."
Recently, Stoltenberg stated the need for Ukraine to get ready for intensified fighting and missile attacks from Russia.
Before that, he said he was sure that the allies would continue to provide Ukraine with significant amounts of military assistance.
