Zelenskyy Arrives in Norway
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived on a visit to Norway after a trip to the USA.
As part of the visit, Zelenskyy will be received by the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre.
The leaders are to discuss several issues, including further support for Ukraine. A press conference is planned after their meeting.
"Norway will continue to support Ukraine's fight to defend itself. We are providing targeted, long-term support to assist Ukraine in its battle for freedom and democracy. Ukraine’s efforts are important to safeguarding freedom and security here in Norway as well," the Prime Minister said.
"President Zelensky will then join Prime Minister Støre, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, Icelandic Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at the Nordic summit," the press release states.
The previous time, Zelenskyy was also present at the summit, which was then held in Helsinki.
As NRK reports, an audience with the King of Norway is also planned in the presence of the entire royal family.
In addition, Zelenskyy will deliver a speech in the Storting, the Norwegian parliament.
Norway is one of the participants in the coalition for F-16s for Ukraine, and in partnership with the United Kingdom will contribute to the strategic strengthening of the Ukrainian Navy.
In addition, the country, in cooperation with its neighbours, will buy artillery shells for Ukraine, and also regularly provides funds for humanitarian aid.
