Zelenskyy Arrives in Germany on Unannounced Visit
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Germany on an unannounced visit on 14 December.
A spokesperson for the Frankfurt Police reported that the Ukrainian president had landed at Frankfurt airport and had been escorted by members of law enforcement to a meeting in the Rhein-Main region.
The exact reason for his arrival in Germany is unknown.
Since last week, Zelenskyy has been on working visits to Argentina, the US and Norway.
Earlier it was revealed that Zelenskyy would have liked to be personally present at the EU summit in Brussels where Ukraine’s EU accession and long-term financial aid are being considered.
EU leaders were ready to invite him but allegedly did not do so due to concerns about how Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán would react.
In his address to the European Council, President Zelenskyy said that EU leaders’ indecision at the summit would be a victory for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and urged the EU leaders to leave Putin dissatisfied with their decisions.
