Friday, 29 December 2023

Polish TV channel Polsat News, according to "unofficial information from military sources", said that an unknown object that violated Polish airspace on Friday, 29 December, was a Russian missile.

Information from Polsat News sources allegedly indicates that the object that entered the Polish airspace on Friday morning was most likely a Russian Kh-22 or Kh-101 cruise missile.

"According to unofficial information from military sources, the missile allegedly flew along the border and violated our airspace. After changing its trajectory, it was supposed to return to Ukrainian territory and was probably shot down by the Ukrainian air defence system there," the article says.

Andrzej Duda, the president of Poland, called a meeting of the National Security Bureau for 13:00 after an unknown object was spotted flying onto Polish territory from Ukraine.

The flying object, which was moving at high speed, was observed by residents of the Gmina Dołhobyczów in the Lublin Voivodeship, somewhere on the outskirts of Przewodów, the village where a stray missile exploded a year ago.

This happened against the background of a large-scale Russian missile attack on Ukraine. On the morning of 29 December, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine: explosions rocked Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv and a range of other oblasts.

The head of the Polish Defence Ministry said he is in constant contact with the president, prime minister, chief of the General Staff and operational commander of the Armed Forces.
